1. Live On Air Now DKFM Shoegaze Radio

Thinking it might be a slow weekend for new music, we sort of went into cruise control. Wrong. Always wrong. We have the honor of previewing next week’s release of When The Sun Hits (the band, not the blog, or the classic Slowdive song) on Saint Marie Records. Immersed Within Your Eyes drops next week, and you can hear why SMR was rightly buzzed about these Nottingham lads. But, more. Former members of Solar Powered People banded together to lay down a heavy foundation and new tunes. Modesto’s MidNightSun is experimenting with heavy shoegaze feels, and is on the lookout for a vocalist to complement the epic haze. You’ll want to hear what this crew has been up to. But so much more… Black Needle Noise, Swimming Tapes (pictured, above), Seeing Hands, Palm Haze, No Kill, Lacing, Death Bells, Auburn Lull (new album landed today!), Silver Liz, 93millionmilesfromthesun, PolyAnna, Outward, Burn The Louvre, The Orchids, Volunteer Cheerleader, Ella Atlas, Alvvays, The Prids, Sun Colony, and choice cuts from the new TBTCI compilation celebrating the Psychedelic Furs. OH! And the new single from The Morelings. Having heard advance of the album, this seems like a next-level effort, and we’re looking forward to the official release.

Let’s not forget last weekend’s new tracks, including Infinity Girl’s swan song, L.A. Witch, The City Gates, Echoes, Indrive, Debrider, Cold Beat, Wild Arrows, Baker Island, Bruise Pristine, Changelings, SALES, No Honeymoon and WYWY. All picked at the peak of freshness.

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOSAndroid and Blackberry: listeners can vote thumbs-up/thumbs-down on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed, as we’re live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

Cup runneth over. New Tracks Weekend this weekend features the newest and brightest stars in the firmament. Kicking off with a few choice cuts from the forthcoming Panda Riot LP, due in June. Plus we’ve got the latest pre-release tracks from My Favorite Things, Ciel, Processions, Foliage and more, before you’ll hear them anywhere else! And we’ll shovel in the new releases from 93millionmilesfromthesun, Colour of Spring, Supercandy, Volunteer Cheerleader, Swimming Tapes, A Thousand Hours, Jet Trash, plus the Bethany Curve reissue, and the new and (allegedly) final release from Vancouver’s grunge kingpins, Weed. Packed out!

But we don’t stop there. We’re still deep into the new Pia Fraus, Tennis System, Oeil, Cigarettes After Sex, Schonwald, Slow Crush, Terry vs. Tori, Rat Columns, Girlpool, Eternal Something, Telyscopes, Aurora L’Orealis, IS BLISS, and so much more. No incentive to do anything this weekend other than lay about listening to the radio, amirite?

Just when we thought it would be a quiet(er) weekend, fewer new materials released… boom. Much new load-in, much new sparkle. We’re (unsurprisingly) heavily featuring Who Cares About Tomorrow, the new full album from Fawns of Love. We had the distinct pleasure of mastering the final product, and it shines like we knew it would. The new single from Ride beats back most new releases. Two new singles from Brisbane’s Babaganouj rock our socks off. No Vacation returns with a new single, and while personnel changes may have dulled the intensity, hasn’t impacted their tunefulness. New music from Daysee will bend your ears and your knees. New single from Slowly sparkles, as does the new album from Moscow’s Life on Venus. No clue how we’d missed new music from The Mites several weeks back, as we’ve been the ones pushing them for years now. Oversight corrected, we’ll remind you why they rock our pasty little souls. Brand new Delay Trees on deck, plus the epic new EP from 93MillionMilesFromTheSun, grabbed as soon as released. The first singles from the new Sleepwalk LP, Shimmer on tap. Bundled in two stellar tracks from The Wrecking Queens that demand your attention. Plus, we reach back generic flagyl 400 into the archive for some classics from Excuses for Skipping, taking a turn in our rotation. Full packed.

Let’s not forget last weekend’s freshness, including Whimsical, No Joy, Funeral Advantage, Kindling, VENN, King Woman, Froth, Novella, Jay Som, Violentene, Hexagrams, Glasz, Galaxina, Starwheel, The Age of Colored Lizards, Folder, and December Flowers. All of the songs, all of the now.

All the new things. Many of them shiny. Mumrunner, Lily of the Valley, Angel Falls, FUTURE (coming soon!), Best Coast, Fever Dream, Mute Swan, 93MillionMilesFromThe Sun, Flyying Colours, Vaadat Charigim, Black Lizard. There’s not much more you need from a weekend.

But we can’t stop, won’t stop. We’re still all about Car Crash Sisters’ new EP, Shana Falana, Cheatahs, Dream Suicides, Kigo, Lights that Change, Casting Circles, White Walls, New Candys, Weed, The California Death, Sonic Jesus and SO much more.

Meantime, while pushing station operations, we’re off to see Surf Club, Jay Som and Them Are Us Too. If you’re not checking out the latest tunes on DKFM, get off your arse and go see a live show! Fill your head with music. It’s an appropriate lifestyle choice.

8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Live365 listeners: it’s your votes that count! Your thumbs-up / thumbs down ratings determine what is kept in permanent rotation. Listen via the Live365 station page at DKFM, on iTunes Internet Radio under “Eclectic”, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Latin America relay: try Radio Terra. And still commercial-free everywhere! You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed.

How much entertainment do you people need?

We’re behind! The big Top 50 Tracks of 2014 set us behind in bringing you the newest sounds. This weekend, we’re fixing that. Couldn’t be more pleased to bring you two World Broadcast Premieres, the first from Hong Kong’s Thud on the Border Series netlabel, and the second (but no less awesome) from Aerial Love Feed, whose new album may be expected in the next few weeks. This taster will only leave you wanting more. Plus: new music from Blue Herons, Future, Soft Blonde, Leave the Planet, The Churchill Garden, Life Model, Adelaida, Shikisai Puzzle, Gleemer, Lightning Bug, Suffering Astrid, Tyburn Fields, Varick, The Poetry Book, Pinkshinyultrablast, Wildhoney, 93millionmilesfromthesun, Mayflower Madame, Deep Fields, Aurora L’Orealis, Dream Rimmy, Parrot Dream and more! Plus recent classics from Native Lights (about to embark on an impressive tour with Wray), and some classic classics from Ringo Deathstarr, Carousels and Ultracherry Violet. It’s a lot to digest, we know, but you have all weekend to do it.

But of course we’re still pushing Indoor Voices, Alpha Male, Contrast, Crisis Arm, buy metronidazole in usa Francisco the Man, Jay Som, The Open Feel, Willows, Season of Strangers, Rest, Gibberish, Autodrone, Honeymoon and more.

And this Saturday night, we’re presenting The Bilinda Butchers, The Sleepover Disaster, Crisis Arm and Midwest Moms at Peeve’s Public House in downtown Fresno. If you’re in the area, it’s a free show guaranteed to blow your socks off.
