Epic. It’s a huge weekend for us, as we pack in a wealth of music for the weekend. Some brand new, some that we were blissfully ignorant of until this week. For instance, Electro Group. They’ve been churning out compelling music off and on for nearly two decades, and we only heard about them following this new release? That’s our failing. Sacramento’s Electro Group may have their influences clearly stamped, but the songs themselves are purely original and compelling. Unsurprisingly, we’ll go deep with the new LP as well as turn-of-the-century releases. Then there’s Morning Harvey. We remember being early adopters of this Aussie band when they were busting out, but then we lost track. Now we have an opportunity to catch up. But, speaking of new-new, we’d be remiss to miss the new LP from Jay Som (recently covered by Putzfork, but we won’t hold that against Melina & Co.). We’re ridiculously keen on the new double-single from Silver Liz, equally torrid and lilting. And that’s a thing. Plus we’re turned on to the debut from South Texas’ Fun With Ether, perfectly molded and ready to shine. And we’re rich with new singles from Sheer, HYLA, Danxia, Dead Gaze, Lunar Twin, Maheekats, A Thousand Hours, LOZA, LLOLLYANNA, Secret Shine, Prepare My Glider and MUCH more. Plus we’ll catch up with Diet Cig, Lazyeyes, Our Girl and a cast of many. So much stuff to stuff!

That only adds to last weekend’s new freshness, including Fawns of Love, Whimsical, Ride, Babaganouj, No Vacation, Daysee, Slowly, Life on Venus, The Mites, Delay Trees, 93MillionMilesFromTheSun, Sleepwalk, The Wrecking Queens, Excuses for Skipping, VENN, Froth, Novella… all of the songs, all of the time.

A lot of new releases this week to catch you up on, including several just today! We’re packing in the new EP from Perth’s HYLA, Fever Calls Late. Let the tasty lo-fi textures was over you. New music from Reverse, about to embark on their international tour, the Part Time Punks Sessions from staff favorites Bleak Boys, the beautifully-crafted ‘Floret’ EP from Thud, a fresh track from Waterfall, Jigsaw Puzzle Glue and Daydream Cathedral. Tasty tidbits from Caramel Snow, Waving, Hints, Maff, and A Copy For Collapse. Plus we’re “long” the new albums from Wolf Alice and Gliss (obviously).

But we’re still pushing last weekend’s premieres, including Flying Cape Experience, Fir Cone Children, Hideous Towns, Wozniak, Bow & Spear, Noire, Novella, Camión, Las Robertas, Day Wave, Babushka, Cloakroom, Spirit Maces, Title Fight, Tamaryn, Robin Guthrie & Mark Gardener, Deep Fields, Blood Candy… heck, what are we NOT pushing? There’s more tracks than time, and it’s too hot to go outside. Might as well sit by the radio, by the fan, imbibing the adult beverage of your choice.

Next week, we’ll have world premiere video, streaming premiere, and other tasty treats to feed your ears and eyes. It’s a great time to be alive.

Big, heavy, fuzzy, blissy weekend in store. We’ll continue to tantalize you with another select track from the upcoming Venera 4 LP, Eidôlon, due out in two weeks. We’re happy to present Native Lights’ “Blue Star”, from their excellent debut LP, released shortly (catch them on tour with the ever-excellent Wray). Plus brand spanking new music from Conheartist, Makaras Pen, Midwest Moms, Ancient Tapes, By the Lights, Youthmemory, Adelaida, Deep Fields, HYLA and more. Plus we’re going deep with the self-titled album from LA’s Young Lovers, with an impressive collage of post-rock, dream pop and shoegaze flavorings. Also pushing the self-titled EP from Catch the Breeze, which may remind you of The Twilight Sad, at least in the vocal department. But don’t sell them short, there’s some really incredible songcraft here. We’re long Pinkshinyultrablast, Wildhoney, and 93millionmilesfromthesun, and we’re short Drake. Sorry, market terminology.

More? Oh, much more. But if you’re reading this far, you’re not listening to the joy. By now you know what this is, what we do, and why our weekends are special. Fresh, adventurous, breaking boundaries imposed during our regular schedule. The shackles are off. And we’re plugging in new music up to the last minute, as we do.
