ONE weekend, so many headliners. New Tracks Weekend brings multiple new releases, available today, including Lazy Legs first full LP, VISIONDEATH, which by now you know is a sound we’re quite keen on drifting away to. New music from Sexores, who were brilliant before, and have only kicked it up another notch. Also, the new No Joy we’ve been pushing for finally sees full release, and they never fail to both amuse and amaze. But not lost in this shuffle are the newest releases from SoCal’s Sustains (pictured above), who dropped their sparkling self-titled LP last week, and we’ve finally got hands on it. Will deep-dive this instant classic treasure with you. We’re pushing the new single from Tibican, “Your Kisses Work”. Out next week on all major platforms, the new Tibican single is brought out as an effort to support multiple Lupus charities, and to raise awareness of the disease itself. Plus it’s a real corker. And, while you weren’t paying attention, Chicago jangle-masters Cassettes on Tape released Anywhere LP, and it shimmers. Plus the new Audiotree Session from Winter has some real live-in-studio jewels, revisiting some of their classics. New Lubec, new Infinity Girl (we teased both on Twitter), The Baltic (now touring the West Coast), Miniatures, Acid Party, Day Wave, Candace, Fire to the Stars, Movie Brain, Newmoon, The Death of Pop, Sullen Ray, Dead Vibrations (finally), Astral Tide, Clan de Venus, Feels, benji24, Russian favorites Малыш Камю… and even with all this, we’re probably forgetting several important additions.

Not to forget last weekend’s fresh tuneage, including Seafang, T R A C E S, The City Gates, Slowly, Golden Gardens, Screamfeeder, Best Friend, Strange Relations, Naked Hour, TBTCI’s Lilys tribute, and Tom Lugo’s Rock Back for Ecuador compilation. All of that, and much more.

Remember: you get to vote on these tracks via the DKFM app! Thumbs up / thumbs down in the app helps us to know what stays and what goes. You support the station, you shape the sound.

Can you hear me now? How about now? If you can hear this broadcast, congratulations! You’re one of the lucky ones.

We’re caught in the middle of an epic legal battle between two multibillion-dollar music companies fighting over Taylor Swift royalties, though we have quite little to do with either of them, and wouldn’t put their music on air if you paid us to. But, long story short, much of Canada and a swath of U.S. listeners have been unable to reach us for the last 48 hours. Awesome. Whether it be a blockage of our app, or the takedown from TuneIn Radio, it’s been a difficult week. We have several stopgaps in place that should fix the problem for most affected listeners, starting today. It seems sad that this is a battle we should have to re-litigate after 2015, but here we are. The major labels would prefer you didn’t hear indie artists, or shoegaze/dreampop music, and they’d prefer we not play them for you. It’s a zero-sum game where everyone (especially indie bands and labels) loses. We appreciate all you have done to support our efforts thus far, and we’ll keep you posted through the chaos.

If you’re lucky enough to hear us on the app, New Tracks Weekend is incredibly proud to be able to bring you fresh new music from Miniatures, The Blessed Isles, Mumrunner, Dead Leaf Echo, VHS Dream, Youth Pool, Lazy Legs, Champanes, Teen Body, These Sonic Waves, The New Tigers, Rain, Nothing, and whatever the hell else we can fit in. One foot in front of the other, one eye over our shoulder.
