It’s Friday the 13th as we write this, yet we see it as a day to celebrate. For instance, who knew the new Slowdive single was in the pipeline, and released just yesterday? If you’re looking for something special about this new year, that’s sure to kick it off right. So of course we’re showcasing the new Slowdive single, “Star Roving”, but we’re also heavily into the new release from Great Black Night, which somehow got past our radar on initial release. Given the impressiveness of their sound, we’re making up for that miss at double speed. We’ve got hands on the new singles from Jay Som, Did You Die, Plaza, Singapore Sling, Fake Flowers, PURS, plus the new EP from rotation staples COLLAPSE, select tracks from TBTCI’s Red-Shoegaze compilation, dream jangle from Antiphons, grunge-inflected haze from 雨の中の馬, plus Purepleaser, Russia’s HORSEFISH, and we take a deep dive into the recent LP from Suburban Living.

We’ve packed all this material into a sprawling weekend’s programming, including last weekend’s treats from Lazy Legs, This Social Coil, Loners, Joel Gion (BJM), Sakawa Boys, Colour of Spring, SeiSui, Twin Studies, Sound and Fury, Raveonettes, and Féroces. Shiny winners all.

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOSAndroid and Blackberry. Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile, and live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

NEW: World broadcast premieres from Keep, just signed to Mayfly Records (well done all!), as well as Glace, whose Pure EP is released 22 September on CD and digital. Can’t stop, won’t stop there, though… we’re spinning the life out of the new single from Life as Art 1927, certain to make rotation after just one weekend’s airplay. Glorious new music from Wen, plus Pure Morning, Nightjacket, Ultra Material, the cover of the year from Schonwald (yeah we said it, and we stand by it), and a few classics from Howling Bells.

The party continues with Under Electric Light, which, if you’ve been sleeping, is one of the dreamiest offerings so far this year, plus Lowtide, Youthmemory, Swervedriver, Spirit of the Beehive, The Churchill Garden, Day Ravies, Cats Park, Shojo Winter, Lust, Cattle, Trementina, White Poppy, Cryuff in the Bedroom, The Lovely Intangibles and so much more!

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Live365 listeners: it’s your votes that count! Your thumbs-up / thumbs down ratings determine what is kept in permanent rotation. Listen via the Live365 station page at DKFM, on iTunes Internet Radio under “Eclectic”, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Latin America relay: try Radio Terra. And still commercial-free everywhere! You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile. DreamGaze the world, yo.
