Weekend! We’ve waited all week for this. Like your corner dealer, we’re pushing the NEW stuff. Like the new singles from The Foreign Resort (shortly headed for Canadian tour), Wozniak (whose forthcoming LP is something we’ve been looking forward to for months), and Venn (who continue to impress with each new release). But that’s not all… we’re impressed by the tasty, grungy treats from Abusive Language, a new band from Philly that’s bringing the edge. We’re high on the impressive new single from Retrieval, Tunisia’s finest export. And Desperate Journalist… music so good, your eyes will roll back in your head.

And that’s on top of last week’s amazing adds, including Taffy, You’ll Never Get to Heaven, Shimmer, Clustersun, Afor Gashum, Somewhere, Hypersleep, d.e.b.b.i.e., The Age of Colored Lizards, Dead Leaf Echo, The Daysleepers, tashaki miyaki, Slowly, Den-Mate and much more. What would you pay for this much fresh entertainment?

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOSAndroid and Blackberry. Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile, and live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

New (and new-adjacent) sounds for your weekend, locked. We’re deep the new EP from Miners, just released on Strange Pursuits. BRAND new music from Air Formation (guaranteed to buckle yer knees), SOON, Lost Secrets, Smile, The Foreign Resort, Mercury Rev, TYYNYT and This Lonely Crowd, plus Oakland’s dreampunk darlings Crush, Dayflower, Bruising, Tape Deck Mountain, Seldom Family, SMILE, Plastic Flowers, Editors (okay, probably only just the one song with Rachel), By The Lights, Ominar, Frida, Behaviors, The Stargazer Lilies, Ghost Lake, Hand Habits, Zeit, Dear Tracks, Angel Falls, Seapony and a whole bunch more.

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. Your thumbs-up / thumbs down ratings determine what is kept in permanent rotation. Listen via the Live365 station page at DKFM, on iTunes Internet Radio under “Eclectic”, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Latin America relay: try Radio Terra. And still commercial-free everywhere! You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed.

The revolution will not be televised. But we’ll livestream it.

september-girlsDon’t be caught napping this weekend! We’re bringing world premieres, not-yet-available goodies, and freshly released treats for you all weekend. First, a World Premiere from Toxicbreed’s Funhouse Covers Compilation due later this year, in which Crisis Arm dismantles and reassembles a Slowdive classic. It’s beautiful torture. Then, choice cuts from the stellar new September Girls long-player, Cursing the Sea. It’s out now in Europe, available Stateside next month, and we’ve been chasing them for over a week now (it’s that good). Then, we celebrate next week’s release of Soft Science’s second LP, Detour, by playing whatever the man allows us to play. Your ears need to hear this!

We won’t stop there, however. New Static Daydream, new Vera Violets, new (to the US) Snowbird, new Makaras Pen, new Be Forest, new Dum Dum Girls, plus a Russian dream pop / folk crossover that’ll warm your heart. Малыш Камю (pronounced “Malish Kamu”), this duo is finally breaking out into the wider world. Also, a bucket of tracks from the new XO album Heart, that’ll feel both new and comfortably familiar. Finally, add in The Foreign Resort, tracks and remixes from next week’s release of their single “Alone”, including a New Canyons remix. Pure win.

How do we defund Congress? We’d contribute to that fund.

Videos are dropping hot and heavy around here, with two just today! Damnit Jim, I’m a doctor, not a VeeJay! Some of the best and the brightest in our scene are committing their sound to video, and the results are impressive. Posted in order of release:

The Foreign Resort, “Dead End Roads” single (available Sept. 30 via iTunes, Bandcamp and the usual suspects), with remixes by Screen Vinyl Image and Novachild. The classic TFR sound has returned, now visually accompanied by a lovely film noir.

Drowner, “Stay With Me” from Drowner’s new album You’re Beautiful, I Forgive You, out now on Saint Marie Records. The best of 2012 return to show they can get it done in 2013 without missing a beat.

Makaras Pen – “Mountain View”, available for a short time as a free download via their ReverbNation page. Makaras Pen has further refined their dream pop and shoegaze elements into a swirling, tuneful haze of bliss. Video dropped yesterday.

The Stargazer Lilies – “We Are The Dreamers”, title track from their forthcoming album. We Are The Dreamers releases October 22 via Graveface Records on LP & CD.
