the mites

Just when we thought it would be a quiet(er) weekend, fewer new materials released… boom. Much new load-in, much new sparkle. We’re (unsurprisingly) heavily featuring Who Cares About Tomorrow, the new full album from Fawns of Love. We had the distinct pleasure of mastering the final product, and it shines like we knew it would. The new single from Ride beats back most new releases. Two new singles from Brisbane’s Babaganouj rock our socks off. No Vacation returns with a new single, and while personnel changes may have dulled the intensity, hasn’t impacted their tunefulness. New music from Daysee will bend your ears and your knees. New single from Slowly sparkles, as does the new album from Moscow’s Life on Venus. No clue how we’d missed new music from The Mites several weeks back, as we’ve been the ones pushing them for years now. Oversight corrected, we’ll remind you why they rock our pasty little souls. Brand new Delay Trees on deck, plus the epic new EP from 93MillionMilesFromTheSun, grabbed as soon as released. The first singles from the new Sleepwalk LP, Shimmer on tap. Bundled in two stellar tracks from The Wrecking Queens that demand your attention. Plus, we reach back into the archive for some classics from Excuses for Skipping, taking a turn in our rotation. Full packed.

Let’s not forget last weekend’s freshness, including Whimsical, No Joy, Funeral Advantage, Kindling, VENN, King Woman, Froth, Novella, Jay Som, Violentene, Hexagrams, Glasz, Galaxina, Starwheel, The Age of Colored Lizards, Folder, and December Flowers. All of the songs, all of the now.

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOSAndroid and Blackberry. Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile, and live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

This weekend we’re celebrating the impending release from Ceremony. Ceremony has now evolved into John Fedowitz’s solo act, and the resulting music doesn’t suffer one bit. The new Ceremony album Distance drops December 17th, so we’ll be playing some of their recent hits, and may even drop a world premiere on you for good measure! Plus great new sounds from Wolf Collage, SPC ECO, The Mites, Lilies on Mars, Downy, Georgian Waters, Keep on Dancin’s and much more. Plus we’re celebrating Mark Gardener’s birthday in studio, so naturally a few classic cuts are in order.

We’re underway at 8 pm Eastern, 5 Pacific Friday night, continuing all weekend. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Live365 listeners: it’s your votes that count! Your thumbs-up / thumbs down ratings determine what is kept in permanent rotation.
