Weathering: “Blue Dress” Premiere

Written by on July 17, 2020

Sacramento breakout artists Weathering exploded on our air as 2019 drew to a close, and it was a game-changer. Immediate, tuneful, and instantly engaging, the core of Elinor Carbone (vox) and Alex Acuna (gtr/bass/synth) started dropping memorable song after memorable song. Shades of Pity Sex, Cloakroom and The Cure swirl throughout their dynamic writing and production. With Acuna bringing the heaviness and a post-rock sense of cinematic sweep, Carbone cuts through the fuzz with a crystal-clear vocal that instantly humanizes anything it overlays. Add an achingly beautiful quarantine session for DreamGaze Worldwide, and it seemed there was no limit to what this talented crew could accomplish.

Now Sunday Drive Records previews the upcoming single from Weathering. The track “Blue Dress” will be a part of an EP titled, “Chimera B/W Blue Dress”. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of “Blue Dress” for about a week before it hits streaming services. The release will be a limited lathe-cut vinyl, housed in a screen-printed jacket. It is expected that Sunday Drive will also announce limited merch for this, inlcuding the band’s first shirts available for pre-order. The full EP won’t be on streaming until the lathes are delivered to the people who pre-order the release. Those who pre-order the lathe will get first listen, and receive a download code prior to the EP hitting streaming services. We couldn’t be more thrilled to present the first listen to “Blue Dress” here.

Preorders begin now from the Sunday Drive Records webstore, and Weathering official release link includes merch preorders (it’s about time, too -ed.). We’ve been looking forward to new music from Weathering, so this should make pandemic summer just a bit more bearable.

Follow Weathering on Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook for breaking release details, and Sunday Drive Records at their website, as they’re always at the leading edge of quality new music.
