It’s a holiday weekend, so we’re not overbooked with new releases (artists aren’t rushing out new material in the last week of the year). Even so, we’ve got the new, and even one crucial release from 2021 that escaped our attention, but deserves more recognition. We’re spinning up the latest from Fever Cult, The Churchhill Garden (featuring The City Gates), Cor de Lux (pictured above), as well as new sounds from With Glee, Tokyo Tea Room, Some Sprouts, tearbound, Les Manteez, Dial Tone, BrokenTeeth, Adi Alam, as well as the brilliant debut last year from Heaven’s Cloak that we’d somehow overlooked. New and new-to-you, all of that and more.
And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including For Tracy Hyde, Softcult, wadfah, Day Aches, CITRUS, Valley Palace, surf rock is dead, The Holy Circle, Trillion, Swanhoppers, Allwax, Lakes Region, Seasurfer, Nausicaa, Callière, Keep, Della Zyr, Shadows Tranquil, After Daylight, and Fawn. We’re fully booked, and this plane leaves on time!
New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
E'en this close to the Christmas holidays, and some top artists are pushing through to win 2022 before the calendar turns. That's pretty boss. Headliners and first among equals: For Tracy Hyde (pictured above) unlock new LP Hotel Insomnia, mastered by Mark Gardener of Ride, just under the wire for AOTY consideration. That's pushing the envelope, but FTH never really cared for your rules anyway. But there's so much more […]
