So much sonics to share this weekend, from the brand-spanking-new to the just-new-to-you, it’s a lot of gold soundz. Among headliners, Brooklyn band Sooner (pictured above) is set to unleash their debut LP Days and Nights on Good Eye Records in two weeks, but they’ve been teasing out some tasty singles from the effort (almost weekly now) as the buzz builds. We may not be the most prominent media outlet to suggest you pay attention to these lush yet frenetic songsmiths, but I’ll be damned if we’re not the loudest and most annoying. Would recommend you board this train before it leaves the station. We’re also leaning into the two new singles from Sea Lemon, one of the more impressive signings to Spirit Goth in recent memory. Of course we’re all about the new albums from Kraus and Widowspeak. Plus we’re likely to shout about Soft Kill, Coming Up Roses, Belly Up, Temples of Youth, Still, Ruined Church, Melting Palms, Lunar Isles, The Starlit Hues, Horsegirl, Lesser Care, Sugar For The Pill, Catch The Breeze (rather a theme going on with those last two), Annie Hamilton, Low Key Crush, Francis of Delerium, The Here Todays, Deadlights, Lullavile, hiçamahiç and so much more. Collected from all over the planet, spoon-fed into your radio speaker. Let’s roll.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Wynona Bleach, Letting Up Despite Great Faults, Mo Dotti, Lightfoils, Spotlight Kid, Laveda, Cloudwalk, Sound Discard, re-lapse, STEREOSKOP, Kanashii, Bathe Alone, Castlebeat, Votiva Lux featuring Mark Gardener, Whimsical, Holy Coves, StillWaves, The Day, Spindown, Plastic Ideas, solitary ZEBRA, Papercuts, Shallow Waves, Ghost Patterns, Separable, Flu Flu, Sarakiniko, Finlay Hatton, dive and drown, Creature in the Spiral, F E E Z E, Cold Gawd, Dead Rituals, Clinic Stars, Analog Tears, Marto and much, much more.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support.

Magic Shoppe – Mono Lake

Boston based Magic Shoppe have been purveyors in the finest psych-tinged gaze for well over a decade now. I was switched on to them by my good pal Ian from Fuzzed Up and Astromoon Records a good while back, and me being me, I forgot to follow up. Well, when I saw that they had dropped their latest album Mono Lake, I knew I had to grab a copy. Thankfully […]
