New Tracks Weekend, March 5-7
Written by admin on March 5, 2021
Bandcamp Friday, and we’re unsurprisingly overbooked. And headliners are plentiful. We lead with a sneak peek of the upcoming album from Wollongong, Australia‘s Miners. We’ve been spinning talented this squad since 2015, and they’re ready for their close-up. We celebrate two Bandcamp Friday releases: Field Mouse’s covers/reimaginings album Memory Card has more deep charm than you can shake a stick at, and why would you want to shake a stick at it anyway? Second release is the much anticipated Darkwaters EP from station favorites Spotlight Kid. The band is back, and they’re ready to pwn the competition. Mood, texture, songwriting… they’re what we’re here for, and Spotlight Kid is focused and firing on all cylinders. Final headliner is the full LP from Echodrone. The palette is varied, deftly changing moods and hues from track to track, but always with creativity and conviction. And that’s just the topline. We’re spinning up the freshest releases from The Stargazer Lilies, Reveries, Graywave, All Eyes, Moon Museum, 시크릿 아시안 맨 Secret Asian Men, Rinse, mourning collective, Jesop, Wy, The Starlit Hues, White Cold Desert, Rýk, The Leontini Vernacular, Hayien, Kai Tak, Fuzzed Out, Elephants and Dogs, Adiós Cometa, Corduroy, Zorrrya, Arctic Lights and much more. Let us bless your ears this weekend.
And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Citrus Clouds’ Collider, packed wall to wall with deftly executed tunes, plus Flyying Colours, Ski Saigon, Rancho Relaxo, Bachelor, Timelost, Mogwai, Secret Attraction, Bathe Alone, Black Sky Giant, llawgne, Dive Collate, Rosewilder, all under heaven, COLLAPSE, The Blue Herons, The Lions Constellation, Rick White Archive, and a weekend’s worth more.
New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
