Seventy-plus tracks batched and sorted, rotation weighted, ready for rollout this weekend. Headliners include Velveteen (pictured above), from whom we’ve waited for a full debut album since… 2016? That can’t be right, can it? No matter, it’s here and it’s crucial. We’re also celebrating fresh sounds from Laveda, Babaganouj, audiobaton, Collider, Helens, Life on Venus, shedfromthebody, Tanukichan, Subsonic Eye, Waterville, TTSSFU, Sloe Noon and more. And that’s just the start! We’re also lucky to have in hand new sounds from Angel Falls (kept quiet until last Tuesday’s TSC), Pale Moon, drowse, Floorshow, Haunter, fuvk, Heavy Sleeper, Riel, HYLA, Lógica Estelar, Pinemoon (with the first warm Christmas contribution of 2022), Velvet, topographies, Summer of Hate, and so much more. Couldn’t fit any more in if we tried.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Motifs, Lumari, Startographers, Hatchie, Narrow Head, T. G. Shand, password:password, Girl and Her Bad Mood, Holy Reptile, Cassettes on Tape, Breaking Fuel, Zed Point, Kodaclips, Swallow the Rat, Bolywool, FEWS, Spills, Bacillus Anthracis, Sol Marineris, Povod, Saline, and our look back: Skep Wax reissed a vinyl-only pressing of the classic LPs from HEAVENLY, starting with their 1991 debut, Heavenly vs Satan. We’re here for it.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

New Tracks Weekend

New Tracks Weekend, November 11-13, 2022

Didn't seem like we were overbooked this weekend, until we began the painstaking process of sorting and rotation weighting, and wow... we're well and truly packed. Headliners this weekend include Singapore's Motifs (pictured above), whose full length debut album fulfills all the promise of their early singles (and puts whipped cream on top), Life on Venus (broadcast premiere on Drowned in a Sea of Sound), Lumari (featured here), and a […]
