Another fifty-plus fresh additions to New Tracks Weekend roster, and most of them could legitimately be described as crucial. So let’s describe, shall we? Our top two headliners couldn’t be more different, but no less perfect for the difference: Sphere (pictured above) drops an exquisitely crafted LP to follow up 2011’s Syvyys album, and it’s the reunion you didn’t know you were waiting for. Second headliner is the newer breakout that’s likely to leave a huge dent in the year-end albums charts: L.A. project Shaki Tavi is sick and tired of not being appreciated, and this new self-titled album is all hooks, chops and mood, not to be ignored. Beyond that, we’ve got a deep bench of crucial cuts, including contributions from Bleach Lab, Cigarettes for Breakfast, Draining, Helens, Mood Bored, Leftwich, Motifs, Softcult, and Strawberry Generation. Oh but there’s more: My Raining Stars, The Haunted Youth, RIMEL, Emperor of Ice Cream, Lowest Places, Empty Nesters, Venetian Veil, Blood Plastic, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Lisasinson and more round out our full presentation. It’s gonna be epic!

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Sobs, Aerofall, doused, Dead Leaf Echo, Nuclear Daisies, Puppy Angst, Linebeck, Sadfields, tip top nap, 9-volt velvet, エイプリルブル (AprilBlue), Shuteye, Bonnie Trash, dottie, Arctic Lights, Lauds (limited sneak peek!), Dead Rituals, Horsegirl, The Sugar Petals, Heaven Slept, The School Book Depository, High Noon Kahuna, Ripppedd, Nostalgiaisfun, ST///LL, The Autumn Sighs, The Fallen Sky Official, plus some recent classics from mofie, and classic classics from The Popguns and MadLove. We’ve got this weekend covered, full stop.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

New Tracks Weekend

New Tracks Weekend, October 28-30, 2022

A bit spooky, really... didn't expect to compile another 90 fresh tracks on the last weekend of the month, but some amazing artists have some impressive things to say, calendar be damned. And we're here for it. Top headliners this weekend include Sobs and Aerofall (album covers pictured above). Pound for pound, track by track, two incredibly consistent and compelling releases demanding your attention. But there's so much more to […]
