On time, almost on budget, we’ve landed a brand new edition of New Tracks Weekend, chock full of fresh and breaking sounds. Headliners include Daydream Twins, Black Nite Crash, SUIR, and Winter (pictured above, credit: Athena Merry), each of which unlocked a new album to compete with The Stargazer Lilies’ buzziness (interview here). But hoo boy do we have more than that. Fresh sounds from Seasurfer, Virgins, Callière & Tears Run Rings, Baby Cool, Lia Pamina, Dream Room, Holy Vison, F E E Z E, dreamfuzz, Fever Cult, Kilbey Kennedy, Oceans, Peel Dream Magazine, Sakkaris, Overly, SALES, Thousand Yard Stare, SPC ECO, Boy Marina, plus we’re deep into the newest Aspirin Age compilation by spinning up cuts we’ve not yet aired from Trophy Grief, Ursula Points, The Microdance, Stellarium, The Lost boy, Iceblynk, The Deepest Shade, dramamine, 93millionmilesfromthesun and more. We’re loaded with epic sound.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Alvvays, Bolinas, absinthe father, Beabadoobee, Lilac, Night School, Indoxables, MILLY, No Sun, Twin Drugs, Sobs, overly polite tornadoes, The Stargazer Lilies, dottie, Say Sue Me, sphere, Lucid Express (US tour imminent!), Softcult, A Reminder, Submotile, 26fix, A Place To Bury Strangers, Aluminum, Blush Response, Dayflower, Echolust, Finlay Hatton, Hey Calamity, Keaper, The Prims, High/Low, Kanashii, Magic Shoppe, Lakes Region, October Drift, SugarCandy Mountain, The Death of Pop, Sungaze, The Haunted Youth, VERO, and more. Almost literally pressed down and overflowing.

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Icecast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Limited beta: we’re now up on Mixcloud Live, website AND app, if that’s a thing you’d dig. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

The Interview – The Stargazer Lilies

Some bands entertain, some thrill and excite but others completely transport you out of your life into strange fantastical worlds. This is my experience of The Stargazer Lilies. They remain a band I am in awe of and now a new album is nearly upon us. A new opportunity to explore the outer reaches of my imagination. Cosmic Tidal Wave is out this Frida,y so I took the opportunity to […]
