New Tracks Weekend, October 23-25

Written by on October 23, 2020

A chaotic week gives way to a weekend full of sonic sparkle. First among equals is the worth-waiting-for LP from STAR, Violence Against STAR. Drop the needle somewhere, anywhere, you’ll find a song that makes you smile, makes your pulse race a little. That’s stock in trade for Scott Cortez and co., who meld power pop and shoegaze for an always engaging treat. We’re keen on the debut from Himmelrum, the new singles from Juliper Sky, Choux, and urbanation, and we’re packing in with some charms from Is Modest, kinoue64, Dasha & Seryozha, Become The Sky, Megumi Acorda, Pure Bathing Culture, M281, Elephants and Dogs, and much more. Finally, we’ll go out on a limb and inject a recent single from Lyndsie Alguire, which is reminiscent of classic This Mortal Coil, and simply couldn’t be overlooked.

And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh sonic injections, including Previous Love, Family Mart, Geography of the Moon, beabadoobee, dirishu6, So Many Lines, Dream Suicides, Космос на потолке, Still Dreams, Soft Blue Shimmer, gong wah, Brief Candles, Dreams of Empire, Soft Kill, Sugar World, Torrey, Supercrush, Tired Up, Cor de Lux, Intentions and more. We’re loaded down, ready to roll!

New Tracks Weekend is launched at 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continues through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM, on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! We’re live-scrobbling once again via Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

They’re new, they’re hot: DKFM face masks are available for a limited time here!
More merch options available in the DKFM Gear Shop, just in time for holiday shopping.
