New Tracks Weekend, September 7-9

Written by on September 8, 2018

When you are so deluged with quality new music, you can spend literally all day, and still not feel you’ve done it justice. At some point, you’ve got to pull the pin and call it stellar. Of course it’s release day for The Daysleepers and Creation, their first new album in a decade. Was it worth the extended wait? We’re not the only ones raving, but we’ll let you be the judge. We’ve also got exclusive preview from Denver’s Caelum, and it didn’t take long to be impressed with what this talented duo has cooking. We’re also celebrating the release of Reflections, the new album from XTR HUMAN, on Blackjack Illuminist. You’ve heard them before on DKFM Foreign Affairs with Mikkel, this is the next step in their dynamic sonic evolution, and it doesn’t disappoint. And Grivo has returned, after a seemingly endless absence, with a teaser single from their forthcoming LP. I think we speak for a lot of people when we say, about damn time.
But there’s SO much more, and mere words can’t express. New and recent music from My Ultra Violet, Corridor, Hero Fisher, Men I Trust, Ghost Thoughts, Lake Ruth, Anemone, Contact, Palm Haze, Pastel Ghost (new album soon!), Shadow Age, Peppermint Showers, dottie, Softer Still, Lights That Change, The Underground Youth, Blurry Mountain, Gold Muse, Nax, Lo! Peninsula, Tears Run Rings, Barrie, Car Crash Sisters, Endless White, Art Dave, Submotile, Angel Aura, And that’s just what we can remember. Senility sets in early…
And that’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh tracks from XO, Wild Nothing, Subsonic Eye, Ultra Material, True Primitives, Nameless Dreampop, Fake Eyes, Candace, Cellar Doors, Den-Mate, Glare (previewed here), I Mean Us, Holy Drone, Tears Run Rings, The Churchill Garden, Pocari Sweet and much, much more. Plus we mix in some choice cuts from Fadeawayradiate Records’ brand new compilation Reverse Play: C86 re(dis)covered. We were happy to play a small role in the final polishing of this impressive collection.
New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our NEW branded apps for Apple’s iOS and Android: listeners can vote on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed, as we’re live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account, and we’re live-scrobbling once again via last.fm. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for some real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
