Don’t be caught napping this weekend! We’re bringing world premieres, not-yet-available goodies, and freshly released treats for you all weekend. First, a World Premiere from Toxicbreed’s Funhouse Covers Compilation due later this year, in which Crisis Arm dismantles and reassembles a Slowdive classic. It’s beautiful torture. Then, choice cuts from the stellar new September Girls long-player, Cursing the Sea. It’s out now in Europe, available Stateside next month, and we’ve been chasing them for over a week now (it’s that good). Then, we celebrate next week’s release of Soft Science’s second LP, Detour, by playing whatever the man allows us to play. Your ears need to hear this! We won’t stop there, however. New Static Daydream, new Vera Violets, new (to the US) Snowbird, new Makaras Pen, new Be Forest, new Dum Dum Girls, plus a Russian dream pop / folk crossover that’ll warm your heart. Малыш Камю (pronounced “Malish Kamu”), this duo is finally breaking out into the wider world. Also, a bucket of tracks from the new XO album Heart, that’ll feel both new and comfortably familiar. Finally, add in The Foreign Resort, tracks and remixes from next week’s release of their single “Alone”, including a New Canyons remix. Pure win. 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Live365 listeners: it’s your votes that count! Your thumbs-up / thumbs down ratings determine what is kept in permanent rotation. Listen via the Live365 station page at DKFM, on iTunes Internet Radio under “Eclectic”, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Latin America relay: try Radio Terra. And commercial-free everywhere! You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Due to legal and licensing renewals, we weren’t sure we’d be able to stay on the air. We’re all better now.
New, a little old, and full of surprises. New Tracks Weekend brings you new sounds and textures, culled from the depths of the record bin, including an unreleased surprise (or three!). Shiny new drops, 3000% more artist introductions, and no flippin' commercials. And we'll keep at it til they pull us off the air. We're back on regular schedule, 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at […]
