First the network is hacked, then growth of DKFM and the network requires a redistribution of streaming servers and relays. Hairy. Some may have noticed interruptions of service, and for that we apologize. Add to that all the “Best of 2016” broadcasts, either happened or happening, plus our own compilation of top albums and tracks, and it’s been a helluva week! But the ship is stabilized, and charts new waters, as we break through the clusterbomb that was 2016, and shimmer into 2017.
Speaking of “Best of 2016“, listener votes promoted Psiconáutica from Linda Guilala as their favored LP of 2016. Not available to us until this week, we’ll take the time spooling out tracks to your ears, so that you’ll know what all the fuss is about. But that’s not all! We also take deep dives into the new LPs from Spirit Lapse, and the double LP from Klimt 1918, both pictured above. It’s a big weekend for new music. Add to that the brand new single from Forsaken Autumn, recent indie classics from Stellamaris, re-released classics from Ozean, some warm slowcore from Swain, sweet treats from Ablebody and Good Personalities, and a breath of fresh reverb from Cascadia Fault Line. Game changers.
New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station page at DKFM, on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOS, Android and Blackberry. Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile, and live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!
And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!
