Happy Diving – "So Bunted", Topshelf Debut

Slacker sludge sells this short. Happy Diving announced their debut for Topshelf Records, due 17 July as a 7″ EP. And on evidence of the title track, it’s pretty glorious. Shades of Ovlov and Dinosaur Jr. infuse this short shot of slacker aggro, and you’re left wanting more. It also proves that San Francisco is producing a deep bench of quality bands looking for your attention. With strong production from Jack Shirley (Whirr, Deafheaven), Happy Diving’s manic energy is channeled into perfect pop, covered in mud. What more could you ask for?

“So Bunted” is available for preorder now from this link. West Coast tour with Never Young to follow immediately thereafter (and there’s some damn fine support at these stops as well).

New Tracks Weekend, June 5-7

Doing double duty we are. While we host a special weekend of music in Los Angeles with Young Lovers and a cast of luminaries, New Tracks Weekend continues unabated. Because the new music never stops. First, we go deeper with the brilliant new album out next week from Aire Espacial, Figuras Cósmicas (we'll be out in support of their album release party next weekend). Expect to hear a lot more […]
