New release bonanza! Everybody’s long-awaited favorites are released today. Some thought we might not get a new LP from Airiel before the next extinction-level event, but ours is a just God. Molten Young Lovers is out today on Shelflife, and Airiel (pictured above, in a throwback to their boy band days) delivers all they’ve promised, with change to spare. If you’ve not got it yet, we’ll try to convince you this weekend. Jockeying for position is the new LP from Dead Leaf Echo, Beyond Desire. In advance of their rigorous touring schedule (when are they not on tour, serving the fan base?), these new songs give you a whole new set of lyrics to learn for the sing-along. The new album from Walking Misery is out, and we’ve been waiting for it. If you don’t know why we’re buzzing, we’ll try to school you. Plus new music from Beaches, Creature in the Spiral, Dayzed, Double Jackal, Godmother, Here Knows When, Motorcade, Purepleaser, Shimmerance, Sound of Ceres, Sun Scream, Tide Bends, and a sparkling single from Soundwire that serves as a glistening introduction to this band’s brilliant soundscape. There’s nowt unlucky about this Friday the 13th weekend!

That’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh adds, including Pia Fraus, The Daysleepers, Candace, Tearjerker, Submeet, Biltmore Dive, A Thousand Hours, Cloakroom, Lanark, Secret Meadow, Vast Asteroid, Zombie Girlfriend, Ysgol Sul, Nurse, Tomorrow Forever, To The Wedding, Surf Rock is Dead, Yumi Zouma, Butterbeer, KITT vs KARR, Matthew and Me, and so much more. More music than weekend.

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOSAndroid and Blackberry: listeners can vote thumbs-up/thumbs-down on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. When there’s so much new music to promote that we can’t even keep our dates straight? That’s a helluva month. And we’re topping last week already (but we’ll keep dates accurate this time). Airiel and Miniatures headline. Both albums dropping soon, surely you’ve preordered by now? But we’ve also been granted a few choice cuts from The Morelings debut LP, dropping next week. If we haven’t gotten you excited about Same Century yet, you may be listening to the wrong station. Plus, new music from Kindling, Lazy Day, Leones, Pink Milk, Poolshop, DoZzz, Medicine (not technically new, but the reissue counts), Tangible Rays, Citrus Clouds, Corasandel, Biltmore Dive, Magic Mountain, Cascadia Fault Line, FireFly, Outward, Bright As Yellow, Close Encounter, Wild Meadows, Swanhoppers, and the ever-sparkling Makaras Pen, in advance of their forthcoming EP. Plus, we’ll drag out a few classic chestnuts from Plums, who bring the jangle. Done and done!

That’s not to overlook last weekend’s new treasures, including MidNightSun, When The Sun Hits, Black Needle Noise, Swimming Tapes, Seeing Hands, Palm Haze, No Kill, Lacing, Death Bells, Auburn Lull, Silver Liz, 93millionmilesfromthesun, PolyAnna, Outward, Burn The Louvre, The Orchids, Volunteer Cheerleader, Ella Atlas, Alvvays, The Prids, Sun Colony and more! More music than weekend, naturally.

Our Bandcamp track of the week this week is Savage Sister’s “Pale Surrender”, the first single from their upcoming second LP Speechless on BLVD Records. It’s a shimmering sonic strike, somewhat reminiscent of classic Airiel, and a perfect teaser for the album. Release date not yet set for Speechless, but BLVD Records has signed on to produce vinyl for the band, and the Savage Sister sound should only be enhanced by the warmth of vinyl reproduction.

Bandmaster Michael Tenzer on the album: “The upcoming LP, Speechless, consolidates all of the band’s beloved elements found across the spectrum of dream pop and shoegaze, elements that Savage Sister has been working in since its inception. The album further clarifies this mixture of sound, never content to stay simply one side of the fence or the other.”

All’s we can say is it’s a damn tasty confection that makes us hungry for the rest. If it were cake, we’d be shoveling it in with both hands.

Grab the single “Pale Surrender” from the Savage Sister Bandcamp, and follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
