It’s Brief Candles week. With all the newness we’ve shoveled into the big weekend, Brief Candles’ new LP stands head and shoulders above the rest, and not just because it seems we’ve waited forever for it. So we’ll be celebrating that release this weekend, and many weeks to come. But we have so much more on offer. The new EP from Japan’s CQ shows a return to epic form. We’ve got choice cuts from the new Percolator album that’ll bend your mind. Fresh tracks from Evening Glow, Haunter, Everything Fades, Glitter Trails, DoZzz, WY, The BV’s, submeet, Misty Coast, Hexagrams, Crown of Pity, A Thousand Hours, XO, Amusement Parks on Fire, Pastel Ruins, Blushing, Pink Milk, Flower Crown, Wrip, and so much more.

Not to ignore last weekend’s new music, including Aerofall, Sadfields, The Medicine, Small Planets, The Luxembourg Signal, Slow Glows, My Proper Skin, mi andromeda, Winter, Pony Fringe, GYHT, Bur, Breaking Forms, and The Legendary House Cats. All weekend, packed in.

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station playlist page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOSAndroid and Blackberry: listeners can vote thumbs-up/thumbs-down on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed, as we’re live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

We kick off New Tracks Weekend with honor and respect. We’ve waited a long year for the self-titled album from Deepfieldview. It’s a labor of love from all involved in the project. Danny Lackey’s original dreamy sounds are supported by a cast of all-stars, from Her Vanished Grace to Drowner. It’s a beautiful elegy that would make Danny proud, we adore it, and it’s officially released next week.

More? You want more? How about The History of Apple Pie? Or perhaps Blood Sister? Maybe the incredible new album from Spirit Lapse? All these things and more: new Landing, new Jigsaw Puzzle Glue, Teen Brains, Juvenile Juvenile, Novanta, Light FM, Ashrae Fax, Midwest Moms, and a repeat of our broadcast premiere from CQ. We’ve got this.

Plus we’re still pushing the latest and greatest sounds from Hush Pup, To The Wedding, Day Trip, Rich Girls, Downhill Willows, Foxes in Fiction, The Lees of Memory, metronidazole online australia Minipop, Schonwald, The Last King of England and more.

8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. We’re not trying to tell you anything you didn’t know when you woke up today.

CQ. A new band with an incredible pedigree, featuring members of Plastic Tree, Tokyo Shoegazer and others. Extremely limited edition album What a Wonderful World on CD only, and nearly impossible to get anywhere outside of Japan. After a month of harassment, we’ve got one track. It’s a world broadcast premiere. And we’re gonna share it like there’s no tomorrow. Because this is a most impressive band, and they deserve your attention. Plus we’re pushing around the very latest from headliners Sounds of Sputnik (you’ll be hard pressed not to fall for their sweet maelstrom), plus Popstrangers, Hush Pup, Movienite, Hot Glass, Astronaut Husband, and The Zephyr Bones. We’re also still pushing the new Prisms LP Whale Fall, and the glorious new sounds from Tape Waves, The Glass Set, We Need Secrets, and Depth & Current. Booyakasha!
