1. Live On Air Now DKFM Shoegaze Radio

When there’s so much new music to promote that we can’t even keep our dates straight? That’s a helluva month. And we’re topping last week already (but we’ll keep dates accurate this time). Airiel and Miniatures headline. Both albums dropping soon, surely you’ve preordered by now? But we’ve also been granted a few choice cuts from The Morelings debut LP, dropping next week. If we haven’t gotten you excited about Same Century yet, you may be listening to the wrong station. Plus, new music from Kindling, Lazy Day, Leones, Pink Milk, Poolshop, DoZzz, Medicine (not technically new, but the reissue counts), Tangible Rays, Citrus Clouds, Corasandel, Biltmore Dive, Magic Mountain, Cascadia Fault Line, FireFly, Outward, Bright As Yellow, Close Encounter, Wild Meadows, Swanhoppers, and the ever-sparkling Makaras Pen, in advance of their forthcoming EP. Plus, we’ll drag out a few classic chestnuts from Plums, who bring the jangle. Done and done!

That’s not to overlook last weekend’s new treasures, including MidNightSun, When The Sun Hits, Black Needle Noise, Swimming Tapes, Seeing Hands, Palm Haze, No Kill, Lacing, Death Bells, Auburn Lull, Silver Liz, 93millionmilesfromthesun, PolyAnna, Outward, Burn The Louvre, The Orchids, Volunteer Cheerleader, Ella Atlas, Alvvays, The Prids, Sun Colony and more! More music than weekend, naturally.

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOSAndroid and Blackberry: listeners can vote thumbs-up/thumbs-down on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed, as we’re live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

Everything came out this week (or, today). No, really. Don’t know if you’d marked this date on your calendar, we sure hadn’t. But the heavens opened up, and spilled all these new releases all over us. An embarrassment of tuneage. New EPs from No Joy, Funeral Advantage, Kindling, and VENN. All that, this week. New LPs from Whimsical, King Woman and Froth. All that, this week. Plus we (finally) catch up with the new Novella LP, and trot out sparkly new tracks from Jay Som, Violentene, Hexagrams, Glasz, Galaxina, Starwheel, The Age of Colored Lizards, Folder, and the Soundcloud-only headliners (pictured above), December Flowers. All of the new, all this week.

That’s not to neglect last weekend’s new adds, including The Beremy Jets, Teen Divorce, The Death of Pop, Pure Morning, ????? ????, White Tulips, Tall Pines, Daydream Cathedral, Seventeen Years, Terry vs. Tori, Shady Elders, Black Veils, Fawns of Love, highandfragile, Candace, Todavia, The Soft Spots, Schroeder, can you buy flagyl online Wozniak, My Pet Genius, and TBTCI Records’ impressive Slowdive compilation. We’re truly over-booked.

So much the new! Headlined by the new LP from Kindling, worth the wait, worth your attention. New music from rotation staples Whimsical and Angel Falls, each taking what they do, focusing and amplifying on an impressive original blueprint that makes both so special. New music from Hoops, in anticipation of a killer EP to come. The new Field Mouse LP, Episodic, we’ll go deep with. A glittering new track from Danxia. Don’t know them? Soon you can’t forget them. Guaranteed. Daguerrotype, Heavy Ghost, Flirting, Seeing Hands, Alarm Drum, Dear Baby Deer, Sick, Exowaves, OSLO, The Pink Elephants, and the long-awaited follow-up from Zeit, only proving our belief in the power of a great band to make memorable tunes. We’ll also reintroduce you to Whistlejacket, one of our favorite brain-bending bands from East London. We’ve been spinning “March Hare” for a millennium, it seems, but the lads are hitting the road throughout Europe next month, in advance of their upcoming Oh Brother EP, due September 2nd. If the live show is anything like these tracks, well, might want to adjust your dosage accordingly. Blistering psych-rock with hooks and attitude to spare.

Not to forget last weekend’s treats: Hazel English, Ablebody, Rei Clone (have you heard this yet? You’ll be tested on it later!), Teen Brains, Blonde Tongues, Tape buy flagyl no prescription needed Runs Out, Print(the)Seas, We Are Parasols, Celestial Bums, Nycolle Fernandes, and TBTCI’s stellar Cure tribute, out now. Don’t sleep on that, for sure.

Remember: you get to vote on these tracks via the DKFM app! Thumbs up / thumbs down in the app helps us to know what stays and what goes. You support the station, you shape the sound.

Sheer - Room

You think you got nothing shiny and new for New Tracks Weekend, then, BOOM. Everything at once. Brand-spanking new singles from Sheer, Kindling and Bleak House headline the weekend. All three bands have a sterling reputation for quality output in these studios, and deserve all the kudos they get. But that’s not all! We go long with the new album from Tape Waves, always sparkling: fall in love with Here To Fade. New music from PNW’s Castles, about to embark on tour. New music from Barlow… we weren’t familiar, but drop the needle anywhere, expect jaws to drop. Castlebeat. Jellyskin. A sneak peak at Fuzz Club Records signing, New Horror: emotive JAMC tones as heard through an air vent (holy crap!). We catch up with VHS Dream, Tiny Fireflies, Velódromo, Emma Ruth Rundle (new single is cripplingly lovely), and Dead Rabbits’ fractured new single. Finally, we top it all off with a healthy dose of Fir Cone Children. New album Fircology takes their engagingly quirky approach, and broadens their appeal with fresh tunefulness.

Don’t forget last weekend’s new jewels, including Youthmemory, The Churchill Garden, Night Shapes, Vibrissae (on stage tonight at Seagaze Festival, with a packed bill!), Sketch Jets, Baby Honey, Kid Foguete, Night Flowers, Lost Film, Great Black Night, Water, Laura Rai, Lilith Cage and much more!

Mein gott in himmel! Tough enough coordinating an epic weekend of new music, but when iTunes Store and eMusic go down simultaneously, all bets are off. Was our hope to include Japan’s premiere shoegaze band, The Florist, but it looks like that may have to wait a bit. The good news? Brand new Kindling, in advance of their hotly-anticipated upcoming LP (preorders up now). Also, new Jay Som arrived today, and there was much rejoicing. New music from Caterwall, Sunshine, Miss Mobile Home, Space Waves, A Certain Smile, The White Tulips, Lake Ruth, Future Theory, Babaganouj, Whimsical, Soccer Mommy and much more. The Man may be tryina hold us back, but we’re on a mission from God.

That’s not to neglect last week’s fresh offerings, including TV Wonder, Pool Shop, T R A C E S, Programm, POKAL, Hideous Towns, The Casket Girls, Night School, Electric Starlight, The Fylls, Callière and more. We’re overbooked and overstressed to get all this in your ears. Let it wash over you.

So it is written, so let it be done.

We are weekending. We’ve dense-packed some real sparklers to shimmer in the summer haze. We’re long Spain’s Ghost Transmission, and we’re finally pushing the full LP from the PNW’s sonic kingpin Erik Blood, with the impressive Touch Screens. But there’s so much more on offer this weekend, including new music from Thrushes, Everything Fades, Beach House, some bloody epic bangers from Bristol’s Milk Teeth, new textures from Noir For Rachel, a fresh cover tune from Kindling, a sonic poke from Chromatics, a fresh new track from Daydream Cathedral, Sundara Karma, Communions, the return of Morning Harvey, and some tasty indie crossover from Grave School. Not content to rest there, we’ll be tossing out a few tracks from the impressive charity compilation series, Rock Back for Nepal. Purchase proceeds from this sprawling three-volume project help to rebuild destroyed neighborhoods and lives following the Nepalese disaster, and the number of luminaries signed on to help is most impressive.

Of course we’re still pushing new music from Season of Strangers, Tamaryn, Pure Phase Ensemble 4 feat. Mark Gardener, Presents for Sally, Static Daydream, Shallow, Makaras Pen, VHS Dream, Angel Falls, Dream Suicides and a whole bunch more.
