1. Live On Air Now DKFM Shoegaze Radio

We’re locked and loaded for the weekend (and don’t we all really need a break after this week?). Brand new and new-to-you music from Youthmemory, The Churchill Garden (featuring vocal contributions from Whimsical and Omega Vague), Night Shapes, Vibrissae (taking a star turn at this year’s Seagaze Festival), Sketch Jets, Baby Honey, Kid Foguete (new release LP A Brief Study on How to Fail Completely Vol. 1 really raises their game), Night Flowers, Great Black Night, Lost Film, Sketch Jets, Water, Laura Rai, Lilith Cage and bunches more!

Not to neglect last weekend’s freshness, including Lazy Legs, Sexores, Sustains, No Joy, Tibican, Cassettes on Tape, Winter, Lubec, Infinity Girl, The Baltic, Miniatures, Acid Party, Day Wave, Candace, Fire to the Stars, Movie Brain, Newmoon, The Death of Pop, Sullen Ray, Dead Vibrations, Clan de Venus, Feels, Astral Tide, benji24… rather a lot, really.

Remember: you get to vote on these tracks via the DKFM app! Thumbs up / thumbs down in the app helps us to know what stays and what goes. You support the station, you shape the sound.

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Listen via the station page at DKFM, on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our new branded apps for Apple’s iOS, Android and Blackberry. Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile, and live-tweeting every track on our sub-Twitter DKFMTracks account. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

And, as always, thanks for listening, and thank you for your support!

NEW. We’ve got the new. Starting with the brand new single from Angel Falls, with a cover of a classic Spell 336 track. Full of magic and sparkle, sure to tug at your heartstrings. New music from No Joy, in advance of the new album (and tour). Two tracks from the just-released Gloo by Edmonton’s Slow Girl Walking, dropped yesterday. A sneak preview of Dark Narrows‘ self-titled LP. These Marylanders are doing some interesting things with sound and songcraft. Plus long-awaited new sounds from Blush Response, a taste of Makaras Pen, dream-laden psych flavorings from Portland’s SWEATERS, a healthy dash of Shalloboi’s new album hopelessly, completely, the new single from Dawn Gazers, music from Point Being, a withering demo from Withershins, , sweet new classics from Borders of Sleep, and the elegaic new EP from Jett Brando (ex All Natural Lemon & Lime Flavors). Then, for your dark night of the soul, we’ll spill a few dreambroken tracks from Feverdreamt, whose new album Terban Te Ban is released April 10th on Blackjack Illuminist Records. Even at this late hour, we’re still heavy pushing in new tracks for first air this weekend, including radio edits of two shiny Vibrissae tracks, and the hazybeautiful new release from Elsa.

But be assured, we’re still heavy pushing the new music from Depth & Current, Hot Glass, Gleam, Since Always, the wickedly wondrous Native Lights, Winnebago, Venera 4, Monster Treasure, Light FM, Winter, Zeroine, Foliage, The Union Trade and MUCH more.

8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Live365 listeners: it’s your votes that count! Your thumbs-up / thumbs down ratings determine what is kept in permanent rotation. Listen via the Live365 station page at DKFM, on iTunes Internet Radio under “Eclectic”, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Latin America relay: try Radio Terra. And still commercial-free everywhere! You can even keep up with the new tracks and artists you may have missed: we’re live-scrobbling via our last.fm profile. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed.

It starts with pre-release awesomeness from the sweetly textured Dead Leaf Echo, and pre-release sandpaper textures from Roku Music. Both of these drop first Tuesday in March, and are well worth keeping your ears open for. Add in all the newest releases from The Casket Girls, Cheatahs, Soft Science, Glaswen, Lilies on Mars, Nights, The Open Feel, ArtClassSink, and a cripplingly lovely tune from Portland’s Vibrissae, and you’ve got a full weekend worth of amazeballs.
