New release bonanza! Everybody’s long-awaited favorites are released today. Some thought we might not get a new LP from Airiel before the next extinction-level event, but ours is a just God. Molten Young Lovers is out today on Shelflife, and Airiel (pictured above, in a throwback to their boy band days) delivers all they’ve promised, with change to spare. If you’ve not got it yet, we’ll try to convince you this weekend. Jockeying for position is the new LP from Dead Leaf Echo, Beyond Desire. In advance of their rigorous touring schedule (when are they not on tour, serving the fan base?), these new songs give you a whole new set of lyrics to learn for the sing-along. The new album from Walking Misery is out, and we’ve been waiting for it. If you don’t know why we’re buzzing, we’ll try to school you. Plus new music from Beaches, Creature in the Spiral, Dayzed, Double Jackal, Godmother, Here Knows When, Motorcade, Purepleaser, Shimmerance, Sound of Ceres, Sun Scream, Tide Bends, and a sparkling single from Soundwire that serves as a glistening introduction to this band’s brilliant soundscape. There’s nowt unlucky about this Friday the 13th weekend!

That’s in addition to last weekend’s fresh adds, including Pia Fraus, The Daysleepers, Candace, Tearjerker, Submeet, Biltmore Dive, A Thousand Hours, Cloakroom, Lanark, Secret Meadow, Vast Asteroid, Zombie Girlfriend, Ysgol Sul, Nurse, Tomorrow Forever, To The Wedding, Surf Rock is Dead, Yumi Zouma, Butterbeer, KITT vs KARR, Matthew and Me, and so much more. More music than weekend.

New Tracks Weekend kicks off 8 pm Eastern, 5 pm Pacific, and continuing through Sunday at midnight Eastern, 9 Pacific. It’s the first weekend we’ll spin some of these tracks, and may be the last weekend for some others. Remember, you can listen listen via the station page at DKFM,  on Shoutcast, and on TuneIn Radio for iPhone/Android/Windows. Plus we have our branded apps for Apple’s iOSAndroid and Blackberry: listeners can vote thumbs-up/thumbs-down on all the new tracks, helping us determine what graduates to permanent rotation. Your voice counts! Or load up the “Internet Radio” tab of your iTunes desktop client, and you’ll find DKFM Shoegaze Radio under ‘Alternative’. Now you’ll know what you heard, or catch up on what you missed. Keep up with our new Facebook group for real-time discussions of what you’ve heard, and sound off!

As we flip the calendar page on another month, we’re packed with the new releases. From Paris, Pencey Sloe (pictured above) bring amazing tunes with post-rock flourishes. Find of the week. From Englishtown, New Jersey, the sparkling Lyons brings the surf jangles with style. The Cherry Wave dropped their new Close EP today, and Oakland’s heavy Solip just yesterday dropped the Without EP . Throw the calendar out, nobody knows what’s happening anymore. Fever Dream explodes all over your radio this weekend, as does Lubec, Tús Nua, DRAINING, Death Bells, Wild Ones, Argrph, Ysgol Sul, Fuzzy Feeling, Plastic Flowers, Vale, shiny psych inflections from Dirty Sidewalks, and brand new singles from Lapse, and Walking Misery. And we’re slightly late to the party on Hold/Transfer new music, Monotronaut’s Gestural EP (dropped last week), and Jekyll (not the hair metal band, but a different one). Plus we can finally shuffle all the gems from Same Century, The Morelings debut LP. D’oh! Can’t overlook today’s release from The Blue Herons, a collaboration between Andy Jossi of The Churchill Down and Krissy Vanderwoude of Whimsical… shimmering. Or today’s new release from Red Rosie, which also serves as a benefit. Red Collier is making music to make others jealous, we’re convinced of it. Wouldn’t be surprised if we forgot a band or five, as we pile in all of the new releases.

That only adds to last week’s haul, including Airiel, Miniatures, Kindling, Lazy Day, Leones, Pink Milk, Poolshop, DoZzz, Medicine (not technically new, but the reissue counts), Tangible Rays, Citrus Clouds, Corasandel, Biltmore Dive, Magic Mountain, Cascadia Fault Line, FireFly, Outward, Bright As Yellow, Close Encounter, Wild Meadows, Plums, Swanhoppers, and Makaras Pen. Overbooked for air.

SO packed, much new, very reverb. That’s what our weekend is like, how about yours? We’ve got today’s freshly birthed single from Tokyo’s LLLL, out now on the Zoom Lens label. We’ve got The Stargazer Lilies’ Part Time Punks Session, but ours is ‘goosed’, in the way only we can, for maximum impact (nobody else has this version!). The sparkling new LP from Blonde Tongues, Safe Like Silk In Polyester Sheets. We’ll go deep with that, too. Need more new? We’ve got Andrew Younker’s just-released LP of dreamy confections, plus Dot Dash, Blue Bombay, Fawns of Love’s new single, Moon Loves Honey, Fools Ferguson (three impressive courses you haven’t heard yet!), new music from Human Colonies, Citrus Clouds, Soft Lashes, Manorlady, the return of Cherry Crush, plus Monster Movie’s new single (full album preorders now), Sadfields, The Churchill Garden, Walking Misery… surely there’s more we’ve forgot!

Add to that last weekend’s fresh treasures, including The Cherry Wave, Tangible Rays, Devilish Dear, Rayning, Sonic Visions, Movie Brian, Vlimmer, Project Diem, L-space, Doodle, and Lucky+Love. Packed, I tell you.

How many headliners can you pack into one weekend? We shall see. We’ve got today’s new releases from Crescendo, Wild Nothing, and The Telewire, a broadcast premiere from Walking Misery, new music from Japan’s Collapse, Estonia’s She Bit Her Lip (giving Pinkshinyultrablast a run for their money!), Austin’s Ask For Joy, Fir Cone Children, Tape Deck Mountain, We Are Temporary, Good Personalities, Jupitamoon, Svankropp, and topped with world broadcast premieres from original ‘gaze icons The Veldt (Apollo Heights), whose new EP The Shocking Fuzz of Your Electric Fur: The Drake Equation drops March 18th, in advance of a major (and overdue) national tour. We’d call this an abundance of sonic riches.

That’s not to forget last week’s fresh adds, including Rev Rev Rev, Winkie, Memoryhouse, Mint Julep, Whales, Ashley Shadow, Film School, Alone, Venusians, Movie Brain, My Dark House, Kigo, The Raudive, Did You Die, Serfs, and The Sun Days. So much good stuff!
